This looks interesting! Can you clarify more on the check dice rolls? It says you have to get a 6 to succeed, but then tells you to pick 2, 3, or 4.
You succeed if you get a 6 on any of those 2, 3 or 4 dice.
OH ok! That wasn't clear to me. Question: why would you pick less dice if you have a higher chance of succeeding with 4 dice?
No, you got to select one for each, like in the example which says:
2 in survival, 3 in fighting and 4 in mental
So you cannot select 4 for all of them, you got that pool of 2,3 and 4 and got to distribute them.
Ah, I see! That was also unclear to me. I also don't understand what you mean when you say that the whole group has these checks. When you roll, are you rolling for the whole group, or is an individual player rolling for themselves?
Also, does this mean you're rolling for all checks when you roll the dice? If not, if I'm rolling for one check, why wouldn't I always choose the highest number for that check? Or maybe you choose which number goes to which check at the start?
I hope I'm not coming across as rude. I am genuinely trying to understand.
Yep the game's intent is for you to roll with the stats of the whole group when deciding the result, it's just a concept that came to mind, to reduce the stats even further by having all players have basically the same stats. That way you basically determine the success of the group on all those areas instead of having it be character-specific. It represents the success of the whole group during the story in those parameters
Each situation will determine what stat to use.
climbing: survival
fight encounter: fighting
having to do anything social or smart: mental
It's not stated, but the intent of the game is to develop a narrative, either with or without a referee of the game.
You didn't came across as rude, totally fine questions :D
Woah I love it! Also definitely fits with the vibes of Seattle lol.
Thanks :D . And yes, one change I would make would add a 1d2 table: "The game is located in Seattle: 1-yes 2-no"
